Comedy & Tragedy Masks
This was a product design for a feature prop which were a pair of theatre masks in the famous style of comedy & tragedy.
I designed these with a quick drawing to depict scale and style. Following approval of this, the design was sculpted in 3D.
The 3D models were milled from polystyrene using a large CNC. The sculpts were refined and prepped then coated in a hard plastic shell. I design the masks so that they would work in different orientations. This allowed them to work as a pair but also on their own. I designed the masked to have a metallic gold finish.
