The basic concept is to take a standard deck chair but increase its proportions. However, as this type of product gets larger then safety becomes even more of an important issue.  I used basic engineering principles combined with SolidWorks simulation to suitable test the strength of the frame.  I designed the product so that it could suitably seat up to three people.  I designed the frame so that it can flat pack down just like a standard deck chair.  I included fixing bolts that keep it flat during transport.  The fabric sling is also removable, this is for both easy transporting but also for cleaning.
